Owen (Vanderbilt) Graduate School of Management

Vanderbilt University, named after one of America’s most famous businessmen, founded its business school in 1969 with 10 students in a former funeral home. Owen is now one of the largest business schools in the South.

The academic calendar is based on a modular system of intensive courses, each seven weeks in length. Two mods equal one semester. Students can take classes in their chosen specialty as early as mod 2 of their first year. As part of the required core curriculum foundation, the faculty emphasizes ethics in the workplace with each student required to take Business Ethics and must read and sign the school's Honor Constitution.
