Stanford asks for two personal essays in order to gain better understanding into applicants character and hopes.

Essay #1

What do you hope to gain professionally from the Wharton MBA? (500 words)

The University of Chicago Booth School of Business is consistently rated in the top echelon of MBA programs in the United States and is known for a strong intellectual community.

The following two essays are required of all applicants.

Essay #1

Darden strives to identify and cultivate responsible leaders who follow their purpose. Please provide an example of a situation in which you have made a meaningful impact. (200 words)

Short Answer Essay Questions

Choose one from each group (100 words each)

Applicants to Columbia Business School must complete one short answer question and three essays. These three questions together cover a wide range of information about your goals, plans on campus, personal stories and leadership styles. Avoid repeating yourself while ensuring that the three essays work together to paint an accurate and consistent picture of your candidacy.

The HBS essay is one of the most difficult to tackle, given its open-ended nature.

Essay #1

Why are you applying to the HEC MBA Program now? What is the professional objective that will guide your career choice after your MBA, and how will the HEC MBA contribute to the achievement of this objective? (500 words maximum)

The UT McCombs School of Business is a globally recognized MBA program, located in Austin, Texas, a center of technology and business for the region. Entrepreneurship is a huge focus for McCombs, and one of the top 5 concentrations along with Management Consulting, Clean Tech, Innovation Leadership and Supply Chain & Operations Management.

Kelley School of Business at Indiana University is a top-tier business school with an innovative program that cultivates strong recruiting relationships with companies. From the moment you decide to attend Kelley, you will be focusing on your career and leadership development. For example, even before you start classes, you will be part of an orientation program called Me Inc. to help you refine your career goals.

Reflecting the character of the university at large, NYU Stern has always sought applicants who bring not just requisite accomplishment, but also intellectual energy and engagement with the world. Stern’s EMBA essay questions are consistent with these values. While they cover the standard concerns, they also draw out your ability to self-reflect and to understand yourself in relation to others and to the world.

The Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California has posted the MBA essay questions for the 2018-19 admissions season. There are two essays and an optional essay question.

Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business is located in Washington D.C. This puts the school at the center of public policy and international business. The program requires all students to be part of the Global Business Experience, an international consulting project. Georgetown also has the Steers Global Real Estate Center and new entrepreneurship initiative.

The London Business School Masters in Management application essay questions indicate that the adcom values and seeks applicants who, at an early state in their careers, already have self-understanding and the ability to reflect and self-critique. For people who are just starting their careers and don’t yet have a lot of real-world experience to draw on, these qualities allow them to benefit from the program and chart an appropriate path forward.

Yale School of Management’s Executive MBA reflects the character of the SOM and more broadly of Yale University: intensive community, holistic perspective, intellectual vigor, and real-world engagement and impact. Its unique “areas of focus” approach is central to its approach. It is not for everyone, but for the right people.

The Indian School of Business PGP program offers excellent preparation. ISB students learn from visiting professors from the top MBA programs around the world. ISB students are out of the workforce for only one year, paying tuition of only $35,000, with post-MBA weighted salaries only slightly lower than their American counterparts.
